The ACID BALL is a water-soluble ball that is a combination of acid, surfactant, dispersing agent and iron sequester that remove carbonate scale and rust deposits in oilfield tanks.The BALL is dropped through the hatch of the tank. The specific gravity of the ACID BALL has also been used in pipelines containing fluid and debris. These can be used as a soluble pipeline pig in pipelines where water is present to allow them to dissolve releasing the acid contained in the ball.

Corrosion Inhibitor Pellets are water soluble pellets designed to release corrosion inhibitor. Surface active which aids in solids removal & control, while helping to eliminate the breeding grounds for micro organisms. Contains Ammonium Quaternary Salt in pellet form. Used in water injection systems, gas wells, cooling towers etc. Specific gravity of 1.15 to 1.25. Pellets will fall readily in brine solutions. Typical treatment of 30 PPM of 4200 U.S. gal. of water would require 1.05 lbs of CIP-25 pellets.

CORROSION INH. BALLS TYPE B BALLS (Cleanup Balls) are primarily recommended for use to control corrosion and aid in solids removal and control. This in turn will help reduce the breeding grounds for micro-organisms in water injection systems, such as tanks, wells, and flow lines by virtually eliminating sludge build up. The CORROSION INH. Type “B” BALLS may also be used to treat water injection systems, dead areas such as rat-hole, annulus space above the packer, and the bottom of the water supply tanks, as well as treating water build up in oil storage tanks.

CORROSION INHIBITOR STICKS™ Type “D” can be used to treat certain hard-to-reach areas in water injection systems. Dead areas such as in the rat-hole, annulus space above the packer, and the bottom of the water supply tanks may be reached and more easily treated with CORROSION INHIBITOR STICKS™ Type “D”can be used to control corrosion in oil wells, gas wells and cooling towers.

The number of CLEAN-UP BALLS required is based on the severity of the problem being encountered and the volume of water to be treated. In oil tanks, only the bottoms (area below load line) needs to be calculated to determine the required number of CLEAN-UP BALLS. As a rule of thumb, we recommend the following treatment on oil tank bottoms with the load line located 14” from bottom;
• 210 BBL – 1 CLEAN-UP BALL
• 300 BBL – 2 CLEAN-UP BALLS
• 500 BBL – 4 CLEAN-UP BALLS
For other size vessels, amounts can be adjusted to treat the water portion of the fluid at approximately 200-400 ppm.

Often, as the fluid moves up the casing or tubing, these dissolved salts will precipitate out and reduce the opening in the pipe and in some instance totally plug the pipe. The Red Sea alt Sticks will help keep the salt in solution by chleating action.
