BioSol SDS-W is a high-performance, synthetic hydrocarbon solvent commonly used as a substitute for petroleum distillates. Its aggressive degreasing power would suggest that it is hazardous both to the user and the environment, where in fact it is not. BioSol SDS-W is the product of advanced, synthetic chemical engineering. This bulletin is intended to offer direction as to the proper handling and use of SDS-W .The product’s solvency rating (KB value) of 76 more than double that of petroleum distillates. This allows it to aggressively dissolve hydrocarbons ( heavy oil, grease, tar, asphaltene’s, pipe dope, lubricating oils, distillates and cutting fluids) with relative ease. A pure solvent, it does not contain hazardous additives to enhance degreasing power (caustic, acid, halogens, chlorines, fluorine’s, nitrogen, sulfur or oxygenated compounds). It is non-corrosive, thus suitable for use on metal, steel, aluminum and alloys.
